LA BOTTEGA

La Bottega del Vino Dogliani Docg is an association of producers of the Dogliani Docg appellation whose main goal is to safeguard and promote the wine.

THE HISTORY

Born as an association in 1984, ten years after the creation of the appellation Doc Dolcetto di Dogliani in 1974, the Bottega del Vino di Dogliani was strongly advocated by all producers who felt the need to join forces and work together for the young appellation. Created and managed with the support of the municipality of Dogliani, the association, over time, has also become a sort of permanent forum where members can meet to discuss, share, and compare their different experiences, debate new legislative proposals and exchange ideas regarding the direction and future prospects of the denomination.

FROM ASSOCIATION TO CONSORTIUM

Since 2012 the association has been flanked by a consortium named Bottega del Vino Dogliani, composed of the producers present in the Bottega and more heavily focused on promoting the wines of the Dogliani Docg area. The goals of the consortium are to communicate the value of this land, strengthen the image and the visibility of the local wine production on a national and international scale, and become the main institutional representative.

THE HEADQUARTERS

The headquarters are located in the medieval underground cellars of a 16th century ex-Carmelite convent, directly beneath the City Hall and next to the Church of Saints Quirico and Paolo.
The Bottega also functions as a showcase for the wines produced by its members, which are all available for tasting and purchase.
We will always be happy to have you as guests and guide you through tastings while explaining the wines, the producers, and all other characteristics of this region that is so dear to us.

SELECTING THE WINES

Wines are admitted to the Bottega only after undergoing rigorous tasting sessions carried out by external tasters belonging to professional associations. The intention of the Bottega, in fact, is to offer a qualified image of Dogliani and of all other local wines by protecting the quality of the displayed wines.

LEGAL REGULATIONS

Compliance with legal and disciplinary regulations is the responsibility of the Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Agriculture of Piedmont, the Province, and the Protection Consortium Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Roero.
La Bottega is not a protection consortium and does not have the role or the structure of one. The producers and vine-growers of Dogliani are currently represented within the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Roero by a representative of the appellation whom they have elected.
